Joe Boyd is a storyteller, speaker, and teacher who helps leaders and organizations think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and take meaningful action.

He serves as Director of Learning and Development at SHIFT Coaching + Consulting, where he designs and leads experiential learning programs, delivers keynotes, facilitates strategic conversations, and works with leaders through coaching and team development. His work focuses on helping individuals and teams clarify their story, align around what matters most, and move forward with purpose.

Joe brings a diverse background to this work, including experience as an actor, screenwriter, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. He most recently served as CEO of Leadercast, one of the world’s largest leadership development platforms, and previously founded Rebel Pilgrim, a creative agency focused on storytelling that inspires change.

He studied and performed improv comedy with The Second City, an experience that continues to shape his approach to leadership, communication, and experiential learning. He often teaches on storytelling, improvisation, and building cultures of trust—helping leaders create environments where people can do their best work.

As a Certified Vistage speaker—and the 2025 Best New Speaker for Vistage—Joe has worked with Fortune 100 companies, major sports franchises, and NASA. He has spoken on hundreds of stages to more than one million people.

Joe is also the author of the upcoming book Story Is the Strategy: Why Every Problem Is a Story Problem with a Story Solution (November 2026).
